Compare PragmaVAC to other devices
Negative pressure wound therapy is widely used in the treatment of open wounds to promote wound healing. It has several benefits such as shortening healing time and preventing infectious complications. Negative pressure wound therapy, also called “wound vac” or “NPWT,” provides an ideal and clean environment to promote wound healing in acute traumatic wounds or chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers and bed sores.
Negative pressure wound therapy uses suction, tubing, and wound dressing to remove excess exudate and any infectious material that may be present in the wound. It facilitates blood flow to the wound and growth of new healthy tissue.
Offering significant clinical benefits for large, chronic wounds and acute, complicated wounds, negative pressure wound therapy is used by widely used by medical professional and wound care specialists to foster wound healing and improve outcome.
PragmaVAC makes negative pressure wound therapy accessible to all. It is manual device for that functions without electrical power. It is a proven modality to achieve all the benefits of NPWT, yet at a fraction of the cost of traditional devices.
PragmaVAC is easy-to-use, effective, and scientifically validated in a randomized controlled clinical trial.

The therapy unit weighs about 400 grams with an empty canister installed.
Typically, the dressing should be changed every 3-5 days, if no complication are observed. The total wound therapy varies depends on the wound size and condition.
Do not take the therapy unit into the shower or tub. You can disconnect is as described in the user guide. The clear drape is waterproof; you may wash or shower with dressings in place. Take care not to roll the edges of the drape while bathing.
Negative pressure wound therapy has emerged as an effective treatment option for a variety of complex wounds. Although not common, pain can occur as side effect and might preclude some patients from continuing with the treatment.
PragmaVAC treatment contains some metal parts and might interfere with some radiological procedures.
